![]() As a Midwesterner, Betsye was excited to join the Detroit VFA team and she resides in the Detroit area with her husband, son and daughter, and two dogs Baxter and Wilson.Ĭarrie Murphy was born and raised in Cleveland. She holds a diploma in the Contemporary Dance teachers’ course from the National Association of Teachers of Dancing, and loves a good Latin-inspired Zumba class. Betsye has never let her dance light dim, and continues to keep up on certifications and training. Most recently, Betsye served as Executive Consultant and Interim Executive Director for LIN Center for Community Development, and continues to serve on the Board of Advisors. Community development was always near to her heart, and after four years in the private sector, Betsye returned to nonprofit work, and established herself as a finance and HR expert in Ho Chi Minh City, working with nonprofits over the next several years. With the love of travel firmly cemented in her, she and her husband decided to find job opportunities in Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam, and moved to Vietnam to make another shift into the world of private equity, where she oversaw finance and human resources for a private equity firm. She started her love for nonprofit management when working for a summer dance festival (Snowy Range Summer Dance Festival) during her undergraduate years at the University of Wyoming, and upon graduating with a BA in Dance, continued in Chicago as a dancer performing, teaching, and admin-ing! She went on to earn her Master’s degree in Arts Management from Columbia College Chicago, and officially shifted to nonprofit management when she joined The Joffrey Ballet for four years as Finance and HR Manager. He resides in Baltimore with his wife Nelle and volunteers as a board member for the Samaritan Community.Īfter ten years living and working in Vietnam, Betsye Moon Park moved back to the States with her family. He received an undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and a master’s degree in transformational leadership and social change from Maryland University of Integrative Health. Eric is an explorer, traveler, and someone deeply passionate about living a life enriched with mindfulness, wellness, and servant leadership. Upon returning to the Washington D.C./Maryland region he served in a pre-opening leadership role to open and operate several wellness and fitness facilities. Prior, and after several years traveling, volunteering, and interning abroad throughout Europe and Southeast Asia, he was sparked to begin a career in wellness. In these capacities he more than doubled The Y’s volunteer base from, secured in-kind donations valued at more than $2.5 million and tripled the number of corporate and civic partners. He joined The Y in 2012 as District Executive Director for the Weinberg and Druid Hill centers and was promoted to Executive Director of Volunteerism and Community Engagement in 2015. His strategic focus included: advancing the brand and mission internally and externally implementing leading practices to engage communities in civic activities and curating experiences for corporations to feel connected and positively impact the people and communities where they work. While there, he led a portfolio of civic and corporate engagement initiatives across Central Maryland. ![]() In partnership with our community partners and stakeholders, we support budding professionals – diverse across racial and ethnic, gender, sexual, and socioeconomic backgrounds – by providing access and resources to develop the entrepreneurial skills and exposure needed to thrive, contribute to, and found or lead companies.Įric joined Venture For America as CEO after, most recently, serving as Vice President of Corporate and Civic Engagement at The Y in Central Maryland. ![]() Historically, and presently, access presents itself as being elusive for many.
